Ouzoud Waterfalls: the most beautiful waterfall in Morocco in one weekend

In the Middle Atlas, approximately 150 km from Marrakech, the Ouzoud waterfalls plunge from a height of approximately 110 meters. It’s one of the most spectacular natural sites in the country, and a great weekend idea.

What not to miss

  • The top path: it offers the most beautiful views of the fall and its rainbows at the end of the morning.
  • The descent to the pool: a staircase lined with olive trees leads to the foot of the waterfalls.
  • Boats: small boats allow you to approach the falls.
  • Magot monkeys: they live in the trees around the site. Observe them without feeding them.

When to leave?

In spring, the flow is at its highest and nature is very green. In summer, the site is pleasant for its coolness, but it is very crowded on weekends.

Combine with other steps

Ouzoud goes very well with Lake Bin El Ouidane, Azilal or a night in Marrakech. Over a long weekend, it’s an excellent way to discover the Middle Atlas.

Take away

  • Good shoes for steps and stairs.
  • A light windbreaker: the spray gets wet near the waterfall.
  • Change for the boats and small cafes along the water.
